ITINERARY
Arrival at Luang Prabang airport, welcome by your guide and transfer to your hotel.
Former royal capital, listed as a World Heritage Site since 1995, this city leaves no one indifferent. In this melting pot of peoples and cultures, the surprise is at every street corner: pastel houses, pagodas and sumptuous palaces. You will be charmed by its historical and religious past which gives it this unique atmosphere. Depending on your arrival time, visit the main monuments of the city.
In the evening, dinner at a local restaurant and overnight at your hotel.
At the first light of day (before breakfast), you discover many monks crossing the old town to collect donations from the villagers. It is an amazing sight. Return stopping at the local morning market (near the Royal Palace) for late breakfast at the hotel.
At the end of the morning, boarding for a river trip on the Mekong to the famous sacred caves of Pak Ou. Visit the caves of Tham Ting and Tham Phoume, which house hundreds of Buddha statues deposited by pilgrims for several centuries.
Lunch in a restaurant on the banks of the Nam Ou (by the river but not on stilts).
Return by car to Luang Prabang with a stop at the villages of Ban Xang Khong, famous for papermaking and Ban Xieng Lek where silk and cotton are woven. Sunset at Wat Siphouthabath.
You can then stroll to the night market of Luang Prabang.

This morning, you are going to climb Mount Phousi to enjoy a superb view of the city.
Then, you go to the Ock Pop Tok Center, a social enterprise preserving traditional Lao crafts. Several collections have been created, some more contemporary but still using ancestral techniques. Visit of the center then introduction to dyeing and weaving using traditional techniques, playing with the most diverse patterns. An enriching experience and a pleasant travel souvenir to take home.
Lunch at Ock Pop Tok on the banks of the Mekong.
Then, you go to the Kuang Si waterfalls (possibility to swim there). In addition to being refreshing, they will offer you a show of beauty. It is one of the favorite places of the inhabitants of Luang Prabang.
At the end of the day, not far from the waterfalls, attend a baci ceremony specially organized in your honor.

Transfer to the airport for your flight early in the morning.
On your arrival in Paksé, you are welcomed by local guide, a specialist in southern Laos.
Road to Champassak. Late lunch in a local restaurant, then visit the small village of Champasak where, thanks to the many colonial period houses (often left in ruins), there is still a very marked Indochina atmosphere. You continue your journey to reach the famous site of Wat Phou.
Second site of Laos classified in the heritage of humanity, its foundation dates from the 5th or 6th century, at the beginning of the kingdom of Chenla. It is therefore older than the cities of Angkor but much smaller. However, there is a magical atmosphere.
Contrary to what it had represented for almost a thousand years, it was then transformed into a place of worship dedicated to Therav Buddhism.
Return to your hotel in Pakse at the end of the day.

This morning, brief visit of the colonial district of Paksé and the market.
You then take the road to the far south.
On the way, visit the Ou Muang sanctuary. A ruined pre-Angkorian complex hidden in the forest. It has a special atmosphere. Continue to the village of Nong Bung, famous in the region for its stone carving workshops.
Visit of a workshop and lunch on site in a small local restaurant.
Arrival in Done Khong in the middle of the afternoon. Installation at the hotel then discovery of the island freely.
Overnight stay at your hotel.
Departure for a trip between the 4000 islands.
You take a canoe to first reach the island of “Don Det”.
Then you return to the island of Done Khone, and visit what remains of the old railway line built by the French.
Lunch in a restaurant overlooking the Mekong then visit the island where many traces of the former colonial presence reside. Continuation to the “Ly-Phy” falls, better known as the Devil’s falls.
After enjoying this show, you will embark on a canoe and set off to meet the dolphins of the Mekong (the only place in the world with Burma to observe these freshwater dolphins). You then take the boat back to the small port of Nakasang, an important meeting place for local trade. Road to Don Khong and arrival at the hotel in the late afternoon

At 8:00 am, departure by road for the Lao-Cambodian border for the rest of your journey.
Along the way, stop at Khone Phapeng Falls, the waterfalls in Southeast Asia with the strongest flow where the monotony of the Mekong breaks.
You will reach the border at 10:00 am. End of our services in Cambodia.
