ITINERARY
On your arrival in Bangkok, welcome by your tour guide and then transfer to Amphawa (2 hrs drive). Arrival at the hotel check in and free.
In the afternoon, visit Wat Bang Kung, located in the Bang Kung Navy Camp which was built to support the army of King Ayuthaya. Statues showing the different fighting techniques are lined up but the main attraction remains the temple which has been literally invaded by the roots of a huge banyan…
At the end of the day, you leave in a traditional private boat for a trip on the MaeKlong River and return by boat to the hotel, admiring the spectacle of the fireflies that make the region famous.
Overnight at the hotel.
After breakfast, you will reach an astonishing place: the flip flop market or the Talad Rom Hub, where the astonishing carousel of this market lives to the rhythm of the passages of the train…where the stalls fold up and unfold as the train continues its slow progress in the middle of the crowd.
Then you go to the floating market of Damnoen Saduak. You go back in time to another era, when trade was done from boat to boat along the klongs, especially in Bangkok.
Continuation to Kanchanaburi, lunch then discovery of the famous Kwai River and its bridge, the construction of which cost the lives of thousands of Thais.
You visit the war museum, called JEATH (Japan, England, America/Australia, Thailand, Holland) in memory of the countries which lost theirs during the 2nd World War with the word DEATH, recalling the tragic history attached to this place.
Transfer to your hotel. Free time and overnight in hotel.
After breakfast, head to Erawan National Park, with its famous Erawan waterfalls which served as the setting for the film “The Beach”. These particularly impressive waterfalls during the rainy season allow most of the time to swim in peace.
Lunch in local restaurant.
In the afternoon, continue to the ancient capital Ayuthaya of the Kings of Siam, founded in 1350 and partly razed by the Burmese in 1776. Visit the historic site and the main temples.
Overnight in hotel
Breakfast at the hotel, visit of Sukhothai, the first capital of Siam (1257-1379) and the most beautiful historical site in the kingdom. The archaeological park extends over more than 10 km and contains impressive temples and statues. From there you can rent bikes to discover the park in a calm and soothing atmosphere.
Then continue to Lampang, visit a magnificent old teak wood house. Lunch in local restaurant.
Transfer to Chiangmai, check in hotel
After breakfast, head to reach the camp of the elephants, located in the middle of the forest. You will be able to attend the morning bath of the elephants in the river then the spectacle of the work of these enormous mastodons, which transport giant tree trunks.
Then, visit the orchid plantation, the most famous flower in Thailand, of which the country has more than 1,300 wild varieties. Lunch in local restaurant.
In the afternoon, visit the craft villages of lacquer, silk weaving, umbrella making, etc.
Overnight in hotel
Breakfast at the hotel, departure for the visit of the temple of Doi Suthep. The hill that bears his name is dominated by this splendid temple, the most famous in Chiangmai and nestled 1,000 meters above sea level. You can only get there after climbing a staircase of 306 steps.
Then transfer to Chiangmai airport and fly to Phuket, the most beautiful seaside resort in Thailand.
Arrival in Phuket transfer to your hotel.
