ITINERARY
Arrival at Luang Prabang airport, welcome by your guide and transfer to your hotel.
Former royal capital, listed as a World Heritage Site since 1995, this city leaves no one indifferent. In this melting pot of peoples and cultures, the surprise is at every street corner: pastel houses, pagodas and sumptuous palaces. You will be charmed by its historical and religious past which gives it this unique atmosphere. Depending on your arrival time, visit the main monuments of the city.
In the evening, dinner at a local restaurant and overnight at your hotel.
At the first light of day (before breakfast), you discover many monks crossing the old town to collect donations from the villagers. It is an amazing sight. Return stopping at the local morning market (near the Royal Palace) for late breakfast at the hotel.
At the end of the morning, boarding for a river trip on the Mekong to the famous sacred caves of Pak Ou. Visit the caves of Tham Ting and Tham Phoume, which house hundreds of Buddha statues deposited by pilgrims for several centuries.
Lunch in a restaurant on the banks of the Nam Ou (by the river but not on stilts).
Return by car to Luang Prabang with a stop at the villages of Ban Xang Khong, famous for papermaking and Ban Xieng Lek where silk and cotton are woven. Sunset at Wat Siphouthabath.
You can then stroll to the night market of Luang Prabang.
Overnight at your hotel.
This morning, you are going to climb Mount Phousi to enjoy a superb view of the city.
Then, you go to the Ock Pop Tok Center, a social enterprise preserving traditional Lao crafts. Several collections have been created, some more contemporary but still using ancestral techniques. Visit of the center then introduction to dyeing and weaving using traditional techniques, playing with the most diverse patterns. An enriching experience and a pleasant travel souvenir to take home.
Lunch at Ock Pop Tok on the banks of the Mekong.
Then, you go to the Kuang Si waterfalls (possibility to swim there). In addition to being refreshing, they will offer you a show of beauty. It is one of the favorite places of the inhabitants of Luang Prabang.
At the end of the day, not far from the waterfalls, attend a baci ceremony specially organized in your honor.
Overnight at your hotel.
Depart for the pier for a river cruise on the Klongs, the canals that make Bangkok nicknamed the Venice of Southeast Asia. You will have the opportunity to take a look behind the scenes and explore an authentic way of life in houses on stilts.
Then visit the Royal Palace built in a hybrid style, half-Eastern, half-Western where you can see the magnificent temple of the Emerald Buddha, then visit the temple of Wat Pho famous for its reclining Buddha.
Overnight in Bangkok
Road towards the south and Phetchaburi. Visit the old perched palace and its temples on the hill of Wat Ko Kaew Sutharam. Continue to Cha Am and visit the former palace of King Rama VI, Phra Ratchaniwet Marukhathayawan. Lunch in Hua Hin. Continuation to Prachuab Khiri Khan, stop to visit Khao Chong Krachok. You will climb the hill to visit the small temple and especially for the extraordinary view that awaits you overlooking the bay and the coast. Continue to Bang Saphan Yai.
Arrival at the hotel and check in hotel.
Breakfast, drive to Chaiya. Visit of Wat Phra Boromathat. Near the town visit, Ban Phumriang village famous for its silk brocades. Continue to Surat Thani. Breakfast in a local restaurant. After noon visit the school of monkeys where they are taught to select coconuts for picking. Continuation to Nakhon Si Thammarat, along the way stop at Ao Khanom, you can relax, or swim in Hat Nai Phlao. Continue on Nakhon Sri Thammarat.
Overnight at the hotel
Visit of Wat Phra Mahathat then visit of the Suchat Sapsin shadow theater museum.
Road to the large water reserve near Phattalung called Thaleh Noi or small sea. It is a unique reservoir in the region for fauna and flora especially for many species of birds. Motorized canoe ride (about an hour and a half) on the waters of the lake. Near Phattalung in the district of Lam Pam visit Wat Wang & the residence of the governor of Phattalung. Lunch. Afternoon continuation to Krabi. This region is rich in plantations of rubber trees and oil palms, so many opportunities for stops. Arrive in Krabi late afternoon. Overnight at hotel
