ITINERARY
Your tour guide collects you from your hotel in Hanoi. Begin a 4 hours drive to Mai Chau with spectacular views around every bending road. Stop at top of Thung Khe Pass to admire the landscape from very high or visit a local daily market of Muong people. Upon arrival at Pom Coong village in Mai Chau, take a short walk to visit the life and culture of Thai people before a local lunch. After lunch, continue moving to Pu Luong Nature Reserve where you start a 7 km trek through the lush forests. Arrive at your homestay late in the evening. Now chance to discover more about the daily life and culture of the White Thai people as you stay and have dinner along with homemade rice wine with the local host family in a traditional wooden stilt house. Overnight in Pu Luong
If you wake up early, chance for you to enjoy the sun rising up from behind the mountains and shining down on the farmers as they begin another day of hard graft in the fields. If time permits, join the farmers in their morning activities to get a real experience for life in rural part of Vietnam. After breakfast, begin your 6 – hour trek. The first stretch is hard with some steep climbs and some stream crossings, but it is worth it as the next stretch has glorious views of the valley, emerald rice terraces, lush rainforests and crystal-clear streams. Stop for a picnic lunch on the way at Eo Ken village. The trek then leads to Kho Muong which is known as one of the most beautiful village in Vietnam. Time to stroll around the village and join the villagers as they go about their daily lives, or relax in an eco-homestay set up by FFI (Flora and Fauna International) in conjunction with the local villages. Chance to drink in the tranquil ambience of Kho Muong and socialize with the friendly locals. Night at a traditional Thai eco – stilt house at Nua Village.
After breakfast, start another trek for 3 hours to Kit village, starting with a nice easy stretch, giving you the chance to relax and connect with your surroundings. Return the same way to Nua Village. Now time to rest before getting back to the main road where the driver will be waiting to collect you. Lunch on the way. After lunch, back to Hanoi on a 4 hours drive. Trip ends.
